Terms of use
These terms apply to MacFader (“the app”) and this website, provided by Meticha. By buying, downloading or using the app you agree to them.
What the app does
MacFader is a menu bar app that turns the edges and corners of your trackpad into controls for volume, display brightness, the keyboard backlight and media playback. It needs a Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 13 or later. Media controls and ignoring the edges while typing need Accessibility access, which you grant in System Settings.
Your license
Buying MacFader gives you a license key and a personal, non-transferable license to use the app on one Mac at a time. To move the license to another Mac, deactivate it in Settings, License, on the Mac you no longer use, then activate your key on the new one. The app checks your key with the license server, as described in the privacy page.
Purchases and refunds
Payment is handled by Dodo Payments, the seller of record. Prices are shown at checkout and may include taxes for your location, and your receipt is sent by email. You can ask for a refund within 7 days of purchase by emailing support@meticha.com. Refunds are issued through Dodo Payments, and a refunded license key may stop working.
Acceptable use
Do not copy, resell, share or publish license keys, reverse engineer the app or get around its license check, except where the law allows it.
Your Mac and your displays
The app changes system settings such as volume and display brightness. Some external monitors do not accept brightness changes. We do not promise that every display, trackpad or setup will work with MacFader.
Intellectual property
The app, its design and its content belong to Meticha. Your settings stay on your Mac and remain yours.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Meticha is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for any loss greater than the amount you paid for the app in the previous twelve months.
Changes and termination
We may update the app or these terms. Using the app after an update means you accept the revised terms. You can stop using the app at any time by quitting it and deleting it from Applications.
